About Me

My name is Jovian, but most people just call me Jo. I am a curious explorer and storyteller who's broken free from the familiar confines of life in the US. Since 2012, I've been traveling the world, seeking unusual and exotic experiences. I've lived many lives and met many people from different cultures around the world who have shared their stories with me as well. For years, I've facilitated storytelling events, creating a space where people can openly share their personal stories with each other despite cultural differences and taboos, have fun, and spark new friendships while doing it. 

Over the years, I have realized the power of sharing our stories, especially the stories of joy or pain that we have experienced but are told not to share because they fall outside of the norms of our culture or because some algorithm doesn't approve of them. Our raw stories have the power to connect us, heal us, and fill us with love for one another. And that is the gift I hope to share with the world.

My journey is filled with captivating tales of adventure, cultural blunders, near-death moments, unexpected discoveries, and a thrilling and eclectic love and sex life. My story started with being raised in an international Evangelical missionary community in the US before leaving that community in my early twenties, creating a new life for myself, becoming an EU citizen, and eventually moving to Asia. The community I was raised in was driven by a love for the world and others, which I still have. But the cultural norms about relationships and sexuality were quite strict and prohibitive. Over my years of living abroad, I have had many experiences that are considered taboo in the culture in which I grew up. But I've also realized the power our taboo stories can have to create growth, healing, and joy in our lives. And that's how this space was born.

About This Space

I created this space because I desire to openly share my experiences and lessons with others. Here, I will share my own stories and the stories of others from around the world, with the intention of sharing and exploring the diverse ways that humans around the world experience life and express themselves.

All the stories I share on this blog are based on true experiences, with names, locations, and details sometimes changed to protect privacy.

I would also like to share stories, experiences, and perspectives of people who have identities or backgrounds different from mine. If you have any stories you'd like to share on my blog, I accept guest writers and am open to collaborations. Please PM me if you'd like to work together.
